Welcome to Salpa Nepal
“Conserving Nature and Communities, Promoting Culture and Wildlife”
Nestled in the pristine highlands along the border of Khotang, Solukhumbu, Bhojpur, and Sankhuwasabha districts, Salpa Nepal is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the natural beauty, rich cultures, and unique wildlife of the Salpa region and the famed Mundum Trail.
Our work focuses on empowering the indigenous Kirat, Sherpa, Tamang, and other local communities—supporting sustainable livelihoods, cultural heritage, and environmental stewardship. We believe that thriving communities and healthy ecosystems go hand in hand, and we work to ensure that development and conservation move together in harmony.
Our Mission
We strive to protect endangered wildlife such as the Red Panda, Tiger, Himalayan Bear, Wild Boar, and Pheasants, while safeguarding forests, rivers, and mountain landscapes that sustain life in the region. Through awareness programs, eco-tourism promotion, and conservation campaigns, we aim to inspire both locals and visitors to become guardians of our shared natural heritage.
Our Approach
- Nature Conservation: Protecting forests, rivers, and highland habitats critical to wildlife survival.
- Community Empowerment: Providing training, resources, and opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.
- Cultural Preservation: Celebrating and safeguarding the diverse traditions, festivals, and crafts of local ethnic groups.
- Wildlife Protection Campaigns: Educating communities and visitors about the importance of coexisting with wildlife.
- Tourism Promotion: Showcasing the Mundum Trail and Salpa’s breathtaking landscapes as models of responsible tourism.
